About
My interest in computers and programming came from a desire to make games. Pulling at those threads led to vastly different areas of Tech. Systems administration, computer security, founding an LED-based lighting company, a VR company, developing my own game engine, working in the game industry, and most recently helping to grow Roblox from 400 people to 3000.
Becoming a manager was important to me to put my philosophical views of software development and human decency to the test. I built a team from the ground up, navigating disparate and sometimes conflicting requirements, both professional and interpersonal, and it was the most fulfilling professional experience I’ve had in my 25 year career.
I like building things and want to build systems and processes that transcend specific technologies and get at the human needs and realities below them.
I also enjoy making music, Emacs, and talking to people.
